When I first spoke to Alice and James about their wedding day I knew it would be a little bit different from the traditional wedding celebration. For starters the reception was in a field, with guests pitching tents and camping overnight and the traditional wedding breakfast was replaced with an extravaganza of cakes as friends and family enjoyed Afternoon Tea.

I love shooting unique and personal weddings and Alice and James’s was very special.

Damion was fantastic, he was wonderful to work with, he was so friendly and he really captured the spirit of our day. He caught every moment perfectly and made us and our guests feel really comfortable which lead to some great natural shots which we will always treasure. He was completely dedicated, from bridal prep to party time in the evening, as well as ensuring that we were prepared and happy in the run up to the wedding, he went above and beyond. The photos themselves are stunning, we received a sneak peek very soon after the wedding which was so exciting to see, and the turnaround for the full package was very quick after that. We can’t wait to share them all with our friends and family.

Alternative Wedding Photography:

I met Alice on the morning of her wedding where she was getting ready with her mum, sister, bridesmaids and family at a house near to the church. The kitchen was like a factory line with make-up, hair, ribbons, flowers and final touches for the wedding day all coming together in a whirlwind, masterfully organised by Alice’s sister.

The ceremony took place in a church in Cubbington with a very personal and intimate feel, amplified by a friend singing opera during the signing of the register. It was that good it made me stop and look up from the camera!

After the ceremony, we plugged a postcode into our SatNavs and took the winding roads towards Hill Farm in Priors Hardwick to what looked at first to be a huge cornfield, but on closer inspection a marquee sat in the distance. As guests arrived they began to pitch tents around the marquee, giving myself Alice and James time to capture some beautiful newlywed images.

Outside the marquee guests played garden games and even got to enjoy a rainbow as the rain battled with the sun. The traditional wedding breakfast stepped aside as guests were treated to a parade of cakes and cucumber sandwiches whilst Afternoon Tea was served.

During the course of the evening the speeches brought just the right amount of laughter and tears before the best man sang a number with the band and guests partied until the early hours…..I’m not quite sure how any of them found their tents in the darkness of the field.

This was a lovely alternative wedding to photograph and a pleasure to meet and share the day with Alice and James.

Enjoy.
