HELLO THERE

Amersham Wedding Photographer

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME

Hello, I’m Damion.  I live in a beautiful village called Chalfont St Giles in Buckinghamshire with my Spanish Water Dog, Huxley.

I moved into the area in 2018 after living in London most of my life, trading the hustle and bustle for village life with fresh air and miles of walks.

Fortunately the neighbouring town has a drive thru Starbucks and a service station that is open 24 hours so I can get my fix of coffee and Cadbury’s buttons!

I never really set out to be a photographer but my career paths have led me to this happy place. I’ve always been interested in visual arts and how imagery and words can evoke emotions and responses and for a long time I worked in marketing and advertising.

As my photography has developed over the years I find that my passion has opened a new perspective for me on delivering images for my brides and grooms that they will love, that they will treasure and that will become part of their family storytelling.

It’s more than just being a photographer, it’s about being trusted to capture not only the images of the day but the emotions, creating a story of the wedding day for families to cherish.

Wedding Photographer of the Year 2019

I was delighted to have won Wedding Photographer of the Year 2019, South Central Region by the esteemed Wedding Industry Awards (TWIA)

17x Master of Wedding Photography Winner

Photos are judged at the highest level by a jury consisting of experienced international wedding photographers. This prevents photographers with a large social network gathering more votes for their photo.

Wedisson Number 1 Photographer for 2019

Wedisson Awards are the home of the best wedding photographs from all over the world. This year I was awarded number 1 photographer of the year, after picking up the most awards through 2018.

My Approach

NATURAL – RELAXED – ELEGANT

AMERSHAM WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

I consider myself a documentary wedding photographer and this for me is about both documenting the wedding day but also capturing the emotions, be that laughter, tears or nostalgia. The knowing looks, the in-jokes, the happy tears.

Capturing these moments for wedding couples is a privilege and I have a profound sense of responsibility documenting weddings for my couples. I hope that my images will be part of their family heirlooms and can be enjoyed for years and years.

You spend a lot of time with your photographer on your wedding day so it’s vital you get along and feel comfortable in each others company.  My easy-going nature helps people relax around me, and in turn means I get a more natural and real imagery.  You can read a little more about my advice on picking your wedding photographer here.

I pride myself on delivering above and beyond, not only delivering photography that moves and delights people, but doing it in such a way that makes the process simple, giving you confidence and peace of mind at every stage.  You can read about how I capture a wedding here.

To keep myself sharp, I invest in my career, regularly attending workshops, conferences and educational courses with the best talent across the industry.  It broadens my mind, improves my technique and allows me to be a better photographer.

I’m lucky to have been featured in Conde Nast Brides magazine after shooting some fabulous wedding events, including shoots for wonderful wedding designers like Caroline Castigliano, Kate Halfpenny and Amanda Wakeley.

I’m honoured to have received awards from some highly regarded wedding communities, including Fearless, World Photojournalist Association, International Society of Wedding Photography, Masters of Wedding Photography and Wedisson, ranking No 1 International Wedding Photographer for 2019 by Wedisson Awards

In 2019, I was also privileged to have won Photographer of the Year 2019 for South Central Region by The Wedding Industry Awards, a highly regarded award and one I am very proud of.

Far more important is what my couples say about how I’ve captured their wedding day and you can read some testimonials here.  If you like what you’ve seen and read then I would be delighted to chat through your day and what you have in mind.
