Autumn Wedding at Great Fosters Hotel
[T]his winter wedding was gorgeous and the perfect match for Great Fosters with it’s open fires and deep mahogany decor, making the day feel very inviting and cosy.  Great Fosters dates back to the 17th century and believe it or not was sold for £700, which I imagine was worth somewhat more in 1787 than it is in todays money.
Steve and Hannah met at Royal Holloway University and so it was apt that they got married in the historic, Grade I listed Founder’s Building.  And if that was not personable enough, Steve’s father is a Bishop and led the ceremony marrying his son and daughter-in-law in the impressive and beautiful Royal Holloway Chapel that is only open to alumni and staff of the university.
After the ceremony we took some time out to capture newlywed shots around the Founder’s Building and its breath-taking Victorian architecture before heading to Great Fosters for the reception.  A break in the rain and a glimmer of winter sun meant we could grab a few more shots as the sun set beyond the gardens of Great Fosters.
The wedding breakfast room looked stunning with fairy lights, candles, Christmas decor and a truly warming winter feel to it, with guests being treated to a sing-a-long by Steve and Hannah and close family before dinner was served. Â As the day stretched into the evening, Regency Dancers entertained friends and family before Steve and Hannah’s first dance – a choreographed number that was brilliantly executed.
