I’m a big advocate of pre-wedding shoots.  Some people call them couple shoots, some engagement shoots and others pre-wedding photographs, but whatever your preference they’re a super way to relinquish those camera nerves and have some fun in front of the camera.

My pre-wedding shoots are a very relaxed affair, we chat a little, walk a little and shoot a little.  During the session you will become relaxed in my company, get used to the camera being pointed at you and leave with some cherished photos of you and your partner at a very special time in your life together.

If you’re at all nervous about having your photograph taken then we address it here, which means by the time your big days comes comfortable with me and you’re less conscious of the camera – meaning we get better shots on your wedding day.

Few people are instantly comfortable in front of camera and even less feel happy about posing.  My photography style is documentary, so it’s not about your trying to pose and more about capturing you and your partner relaxed together.  If you do feel you would like some gentle coaching them I’m on hand to help of course and I have a host of tricks to make you relax in front of camera snd ensure we get some lovely photographs.

I like to shoot in locations that offer us the flexibility to keep things fluid and enable us to walk, chat and pause to take shots.  This might be somewhere that you and your partner have an emotional connection with, somewhere that holds happy memories or somewhere you just like chilling out together.  If you’re struggling for inspiration I have a long list of great locations and can always suggest somewhere.

Some clients like to use these photographs as part of their wedding blog, as invitations or to use as a signing board on the day.  Signing boards are an especially lovely way to capture messages from your friends and family.  Guests simply sign the mount board of the photograph and I deliver a framed version with your wedding day pictures.  You can even change the photograph from the engagement shoot to something special from the wedding day if you prefer.
