I first met Fran and Tristan at the National Wedding Show in 2016. We chatted about their farmhouse wedding photography plans and hit it off immediately. Tristan runs the most fabulous arable farm in Oundle, near Northamptonshire. As a kid we lived opposite a dairy farm and my memory was of muddy, noisy and smelly affairs. The modern day farm, and indeed Tristan’s arable farm couldn’t be further from this memory. It was immaculate, and made for a simply stunning farmhouse wedding venue. Not a cow in sight, instead immaculate grounds with stunning vistas in wide open space, centred around a gorgeous marquee.
An incredible experience and beautiful memories to cherish
Before the big day I met Tristan and Fran in Richmond Park for a pre-wedding shoot. A great way to shed those pre-wedding camera nerves and an opportunity to get to know each other, meaning you’re much more comfortable with the camera on your big day. The wedding ceremony was conducted by Reverend Richard Coles, now of Strictly Come Dancing fame, but like many people my age, he will always be one half of The Communards. A beautiful and humorous ceremony with the Reverend telling anecdotes about Tristan growing up.
After the ceremony we jumped into the Land Rover and drove into one of the fields on the farmyard to capture some beautiful newlywed shots. Fran looked a picture with her stunning wedding dress and a glass of champagne in one hand, perched in the front seat of the Land Rover driving into the fields….
This was one of the busiest wedding dance-floors I’ve been to with everyone from the young to the old getting down and shaking their tootsie, a super wedding and great fun to capture.
