Rhalina and Toby’s London wedding was a ‘coming together’ of London and Latino, encompassing a traditional ceremony with a twist of Brazil and more than a splash of colour.

Thank you so much and the photos look amazing!!

I met Rhalina and Toby before their wedding day to chat through what they had planned for the big day, discussing the best way to capture the images they were looking for and how and how to get the most from the photography. Rhalina and Toby wanted a documentary style to their wedding photography, with a heavy focus on capturing the moments and stories that are part and parcel of a wedding day.

The Ceremony:

On the day of the wedding I met Rhalina in her bridal suite of the Lansdowne Club in Mayfair where she was getting ready with her mum and bridesmaids before making her way to the most stunning of London churches, Farm Street Church. The high vaulted ceilings, stained glass windows and the choir singing from the balcony made this an enormously atmospheric moment as guests waited for Rhalina to walk down the aisle.

Newlyweds:

After the ceremony we grabbed 30 minutes together and walked around Mount Street Gardens. This is one of London’s little secrets, a small but beautiful garden nestled between the busy streets, offering us some lovely backdrops for newlywed photographs. I try to make these shots as relaxed as possible and so keep the session lighthearted, secluded and fun. It’s not nearly as daunting as most couples think and usually a part of the day where the bride and groom can spend some precious time together.

The Reception:

The reception was back at the Lansdown Club, which looked stunning amongst the golds, yellows, reds and purples of the decorations and lights. It made for a great setting as Flamenco dancers entertained guests after dinner, spilling out into the garden space as the early evening set in.

The Party:

Whilst guests gathered for dancing, Rhalina and Toby surprised them with two professional Samba dancers, teaching them some latin hip moves, much to the amusement of the Brazilian family contingent.

This was a lovely wedding to capture, full of life, colour and fun. Special thanks to Josh Ryan for assisting.

Enjoy.
