Marquee wedding photography:

[K]ate and Tom’s wedding was a delightfully bright and vibrant day.  Set in Kate’s parents back garden in Kent, with a beautiful marquee built onto the neighbouring farmers land.  It made for a perfect venue as guests mingled in the family garden before moving into the marquee in the adjoining field.

The day started in Kate’s parents kitchen where I joined the family for getting ready shots.  It was an industrious morning with all hands on deck, adding the finishing touches to the wedding setting.  I first noticed the colour theme with the shoes, then noticed how it had been taken through to the place settings, favours, bridesmaid dresses and many other elements, making for a gorgeous flash of colour on this summer wedding.

Their was definitely a strong sense of family at this wedding, maybe enhanced with it being centred around Kate’s home, and with some family the travelling great distances to be there it made the day feel extra special. Whilst guests sipped champagne and tucked into canapés we took 30 minutes to capture some newlywed shots in the garden before getting Kate and Tom back to their reception and cutting of the cake. The wedding cake was a series of cup cakes that were made by Kate who is one mean baker….she even turned up to our engagement shoot with a cake tin!

The unique shaped marquee gate the afternoon an intimate feel and without any limitations on noise and closing time the party kicked off with some raucous dancing.

Special thanks go to Deji Johnson for helping me capture the day.

Enjoy.
