Hannah and Alex’s winter wedding at Oaks Farm Weddings was a beaut. Despite all the challenges that come with a winter wedding I do love capturing them, and the heavens were merciful as we managed to dodge the rain and make the most of the grounds at Oaks Farm.

Hannah and Alex are one of those couples that just seem to be a perfect match for each other, both very easy going and relaxed people and blissfully happy with their life together.

Bridal Preparation:

On the morning of the wedding I met Hannah, her mum and bridesmaids at the local hair salon, where the ladies were having hair and make-up done. It was a fun morning as the girls sipped champagne and chatted, whilst other customers observed from their chairs, rollers adorned.

Once hair and make-up was complete we made our way to Oaks Farm Weddings venue for the sharing of gifts, tears and getting into dresses. It really was emotional as Hannah received a beautiful gift and message from Alex, setting most of the bridal party into meltdown.

The Ceremony:

Oaks Farm Weddings has a romantic stable barn where Alex was waiting for Hannah with guests and a guitarist playing as Hannah walked dow the aisle with her father.

After the ceremony the groomsmen led guests outside for the traditional confetti throw, before we made a sharp retreat back to the warmth of the venue reception.

Whilst guests enjoyed the oak barn, champagne and canapés, Alex, Hannah and I went and captured some stunning newlywed portraits around the grounds of the venue. I always keep these as natural as possible for my couples and in keeping with my documentary style.

The Reception & Party:

By the time Hannah’s father finished his speech, I’m not sure there was a dry eye in the house. An emotional and sweet dedication to his daughter that had laughter, tears and a lot of love wrapped up in it. Alex soon stepped up and added to the emotion of the day, until his best man took the reins and lifted the guests with some cheeky jokes at his best mates expense.

The dance floor was busy all night and this was a wonderful crowd of people to capture, a lovely wedding and a beautiful couple.

Enjoy.
