Whilst wandering around I got to meet the staff at the venue, who could not be more helpful and bumped into quite a few guests who were helping to set up the final touches for the day. It really helps to get to know guests through the course of the day, making them feel more relaxed in my company and less conscious of my cameras.
That Amazing Place is tucked away in the Essex countryside and was built in the 15th century as a monastery. It’s now a grade II listed building offering bed and breakfast and exclusive use as a wedding venue.

I met Lisa and Steve at That Amazing Place wedding fair a year earlier, we got chatting about their day and hit it off, so I was pleased when Lisa got in touch about her documentary wedding photography.
The day was very relaxed and focussed on close friends and family sharing time together and celebrating in the marriage. Steve’s kids played a key role in the morning, helping their Dad get ready and walking Lisa and Steve down the aisle for the ceremony.
The speeches were very intimate with guests gathering around the bottom of the staircase and sharing in stories and laughs about the couple and growing up together.
Despite the rain, we still managed to capture some newlywed shots in the venues beautiful gardens.
This was a very romantic, intimate and fun day.
Enjoy.
