Getting Ready: Space, Light, and Calm
One of the first things I recommend to couples getting married here is to take advantage of the beautiful natural light in the hotel’s suites. Choose a room with large windows and neutral tones—it not only helps create calm, editorial-style prep photos but gives your hair and makeup team space to work.
Keep clutter to one corner and have your details—dress, shoes, stationery, perfume—ready and together when I arrive. It means we can capture those little touches quickly and naturally without interruption.
The Ceremony: Framing the Moment
Ceremonies at Hotel Cala Moresca often take place on the panoramic terrace overlooking the sea. It’s a location that photographs best in the late afternoon or golden hour, when the sun drops lower and softens.
Tip: Speak to your planner or celebrant about ceremony timing. If you’re planning a summer wedding, a slightly later start (5–6pm) ensures softer light and avoids harsh midday shadows on faces. It also keeps guests cooler and more comfortable.
I always position myself to capture the couple with the ocean behind—it’s a dramatic, clean backdrop that highlights the connection without distraction.
Portraits: Using the Landscape
Hotel Cala Moresca offers a range of incredible spots for portraits—from the cliffside paths to the quiet garden corners and the steps leading down to the water. I like to keep portraits relaxed, giving you space to breathe, walk, and enjoy the moment while I capture the natural interaction between you.
Golden hour (the hour before sunset) is when the venue truly glows. The warm Mediterranean light reflects off the sea and casts a golden hue across the entire property. We’ll use this time for soft, romantic portraits that feel timeless and effortless.
If you’re feeling adventurous, we can take a short walk to nearby coastal paths for something a little wilder and more dramatic.
The Reception: Atmosphere and Ambience
Dinner under the stars is a huge part of what makes Italian weddings so magical. At Cala Moresca, the evening light transitions slowly, allowing for beautiful ambient shots of speeches, toasts and relaxed moments.
Tip: Consider string lights, lanterns or candles to enhance the atmosphere as daylight fades. Not only do they elevate the guest experience, but they help create beautifully lit photographs with warmth and character.
If you’re having a live band or DJ, I’ll often stay late into the evening to capture the first dance and most of the party—these images are full of movement, laughter, and energy, rounding off the story of your day.
