Offley Place Wedding Photographer
As an Offley Place wedding photographer I absolutely love shooting at this luxury country house hotel in Hertfordshire.
It’s an amazing 17th century country manor house with a rural setting on the outskirts of the village of Great Offley and only a short distance from where I live, making me very familiar with this beautiful wedding venue.
Offley Place has so many beautiful features and I like to ensure that when documenting your wedding photography we blend the details of the parkland and mansion into your day, from the gorgeous Rose Garden to the stunning Hester Ballroom.

Some more information about
OFFLEY PLACE
A Romantic Manor House in Hertfordshire – Offley Place
If you’re looking for an elegant country manor wedding venue in Hertfordshire, Offley Place is a gem. I’ve had the pleasure of photographing several weddings here, and it remains one of my favourite local venues. The setting is stunning, the light is beautiful, and the team are absolutely top-notch—efficient, warm, and fully invested in making your day run seamlessly.
Offley Place strikes that perfect balance between historic charm and modern luxury. From the sweeping driveway to the elegant Conservatory and sprawling parkland, it offers a truly timeless backdrop for your wedding photography.
The Conservatory – Light-Filled Ceremony Perfection
As a wedding photographer, light is everything, and the Conservatory at Offley Place is one of those rare spaces where the light just pours in. With a glass ceiling and floor-to-ceiling windows, this space is bright, airy, and ideal for romantic ceremonies.
It comfortably holds up to 120 guests, making it perfect for couples wanting something personal and intimate without compromising on grandeur. The chandeliers, rustic stonework, and views across the Rose Garden add a refined, romantic feel.
📝 Tip: Consider floral installations or candles to soften the space further and create a beautifully atmospheric setting for your ceremony photographs.
The Hester Ballroom – For Grand, Elegant Celebrations
For larger weddings, the Hester Ballroom is a brilliant option. One of the newer additions to Offley Place, it holds up to 250 guests and can be used for both your ceremony and wedding breakfast.
The design is modern yet sympathetic to the manor’s heritage, and the large windows allow natural light to spill in across the space. It’s particularly beautiful in the golden hour, when the light softens and the Rose Garden glows in the background.
📝 Tip: Speak to your planner about lighting the space for the evening. A well-thought-out lighting design can really transform this room after sunset and make a big impact in your photos.
The Rose Garden and Parkland – A Dream for Portraits
Offley Place is set within 27 acres of private parkland, and it’s every bit as idyllic as it sounds. I always encourage my couples to take a quiet stroll through the Rose Garden or out into the grounds for their newlywed portraits.
It’s a great chance to step away for a moment, take a breath, and let the day slow down while we capture some relaxed, romantic images together.
📝 Tip: If you’re getting married in summer, try to schedule portraits during golden hour—just before sunset—when the soft, warm light is at its most flattering.
Arrival and Accommodation – A Warm Welcome
Guests are greeted by a sweeping driveway that leads up to the stately country house, setting the tone from the very first moment. It’s grand without feeling stuffy, and the service is always welcoming and polished.
With 16 luxurious bedrooms on-site, Offley Place makes it easy for close friends and family to stay overnight, allowing the celebrations to stretch effortlessly into the next day. And if your guests fancy something extra special, the Spencer Restaurant serves beautifully prepared food in an elegant setting.
A Venue That’s a Joy to Photograph
Offley Place really is a wedding photographer’s dream. From the natural light and characterful architecture to the rose gardens and parkland, it’s a venue that looks incredible from morning through to evening.
Whether you’re planning an intimate ceremony or a grand celebration, Offley Place offers flexibility, style and heart in equal measure.
📝 Tip: When planning your day here, build in a little buffer time. The grounds are worth exploring, and you’ll appreciate having the space to slow down, breathe it all in, and let the moments unfold naturally.
