Why I love capturing weddings at

WASING PARK

Wasing Park is a dream location for documentary wedding photography. I’m drawn to natural light, real moments, and honest emotion—and Wasing delivers this in abundance. The venue layout allows your day to flow seamlessly from bridal prep to dancing, with each part of the day offering something special photographically.

The Bridal Cottage is a lovely, light-filled space to begin your day. With large windows and elegant décor, it’s perfect for relaxed, timeless bridal preparation photos. I always advise couples to keep the room tidy and clutter-free—those little things can make a big difference to your images.

The Garden Room, where civil ceremonies take place, is another favourite spot. With its floor-to-ceiling windows and clean, contemporary design, it’s a beautiful space for documenting emotional vows and natural light-filled ceremony shots. For couples planning a church ceremony, St. Nicholas Church sits just a short stroll away on the estate, offering a quintessential English setting for a traditional service.

Storytelling Across a Stunning Estate

As a storytelling photographer, I love to capture the day as it unfolds naturally—moments of laughter, tears, and everything in between. Wasing Park’s grounds allow for this beautifully. After your ceremony, guests typically spill out into the gardens for drinks and canapés. This is a perfect time for candid shots—hugs, reunions, children playing—moments that form the heart of your wedding story.

The estate’s woodland walkways, Victorian Summerhouse, and walled gardens are ideal for a relaxed couple shoot. I’ll often take my couples for a short stroll away from the crowd, allowing you to catch your breath and spend a little time together while I quietly document your connection. There’s no stiff posing here—just natural, elegant portraits with a soft editorial feel.

When it’s time for your wedding breakfast and speeches, the Castle Barn really comes into its own. With its high ceilings, rustic beams, and fairy-lit walls, it’s full of warmth and atmosphere. As the evening builds and the dancefloor fills, I’ll be there capturing the energy, the laughter, and the quiet moments on the sidelines too.

Tips for Getting the Most from Your Wasing Park Wedding Photography

  1. Plan your timings carefully – Golden hour light at Wasing is magical. If you can, plan your couple portraits for just before sunset.
  2. Keep it relaxed – The best photos are often unplanned. Trust your photographer to tell your story naturally.
  3. Use the venue to its full potential – Wasing has so many beautiful nooks and backdrops. Even a short walk can give you a huge variety in your gallery.
  4. Don’t worry about the weather – Wasing’s interiors are just as lovely as its gardens. A little rain never stops a great wedding story.
