Winter light is softer, moodier, and far more directional than the harsh summer sun, which is a gift for wedding photography. At Ashdown Park, the landscaped gardens and forested surrounds offer dramatic backdrops for portraits, while the inside spaces are flooded with gentle window light—perfect for capturing authentic, emotive moments.

We often aim to capture couple portraits shortly after the ceremony to make the most of the fading light. A quick stroll through the grounds, a pause under the arched cloisters, or a few frames in front of the lake—it’s all about weaving in the setting while keeping the focus on your connection.
