Old Luxters Barn Wedding Photographer
HENLEY ON THAMESOLD LUXTERS BARN WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
Sophia and Alex chose to get married at St Dunstans church in Henley before enjoying their reception at Old Luxters Barn, an 18th Century Barn located in the Hambleden Valley, near Henley-on-Thames. This beautiful Oxfordshire wedding venue is surrounded by a renowned Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the Chiltern Valley Winery, Brewery & Vineyard.
Old Luxters Barn Wedding Photographer:
Sophia and Alex’s Old Luxters Barn wedding took a slightly different pattern to the traditional wedding day, with guests enjoying an elongated ceremony including drinks and food at the church before reconvening later in the day at Old Luxters Barn for a winter drinks reception.
Bridal Preparation:
I met Sophia, her sister, parents and friends at Danesfield House (another lovely wedding venue), where they were enjoying breakfast and slowly going through the process of getting ready. Fabulous make-up artist Gemma Fee was there making the magic happen.
My second photographer was with Alex as he organised things at the church, making sure everything was perfect for when friends and family arrive.
The Ceremony:
St Dunstans Church has a strong family connection for Sophia whose parents and grandparents were also married here and despite the family living in Europe, still regard it as their family church.
It’s a quaint church with a mezzanine floor to capture shots from upon high and has some lovely grounds for newlywed portraits.
After Sophia and Alex were married the church hosted guests for food, drinks and some family portraits before a London bus took guests back to hotels for a spruce up and on to Old Luxters Barn.
Whilst guests journeyed back to their hotels Sophia and Alex took some time out and we captured some beautiful newlywed portraits in and around the grounds of the church.
The Reception & Party:
We arrived at Old Luxters Barn before guests and with the winter sun setting it was too good an opportunity not to capture some stunning portraits of the couples whilst guests slowly arrived.
I always treat my newlywed portraits in a similar style to my documentary style, preferring not to capture cheesy or cliché shots and keeping moments natural and elegant.
Upon arriving at the reception guests were treated to a warming glass of mulled wine and canapés, whilst the Old Luxters Barn team prepared a hearty winter three course meal.
As a final treat friends and family were treated to a Cèilidh dancing lesson, ending with the inevitable confusion and laughter.
This was a beautiful winter wedding and my thanks go out to Zibi who helped me capture this wonderful occasion.
