Top Ten Hertfordshire Wedding Venues
I’m a documentary wedding photographer who lives in Buckinghamshire and so naturally I capture a lot of weddings in Hertfordshire. Unsurprisingly I often get asked by couples about the best wedding venues in Hertfordshire to get married at so I pulled together my list of the top ten Hertfordshire wedding venues.
Although I have written this primarily based on the aesthetics and impact the venues have on your wedding photography, I’d like to think that I also have a good feel for the quality of the wedding teams at the venue, the atmosphere and intimacy the venues lend to your day and experience your guests have.

One of the most daunting choices you come across while planning a wedding has to be the selection of the wedding venue. In a county like Hertfordshire – where you have so many splendid wedding venues to choose from – choosing between a luxury country hotel and romantic rustic period house can become overwhelming. Lucky for you, here’s a very straightforward list of top ten Hertfordshire wedding venues to narrow down some choices.
Their are certainly some fabulous venues to choose from in Hertfordshire with the county being blessed with rolling parkland, vistas, country houses, hotels and mansions, and as a Hertfordshire documentary wedding photographer I feel blessed to have them on my doorstep. Fanhams Hall
Top of my Top Ten Hertfordshire Wedding Venues is Fanhams Hall where I shot earlier this year (see wedding).
Fanhams Hall is one of the best wedding venues in Hertfordshire if you’re a couple looking for something with a contemporary edgy and refined vibe. Something that’s got a traditional feel to it yet can be presented as a modern day classic wedding.
Fanhams Hall offers something for everyone. You can choose between a lovely outdoor wedding and if you’re lucky a spectacular sunset reception, or an elegant indoor wedding using the many flexible rooms.
There’s a well-tended garden to get gorgeous newlywed and formal photographs; a Japanese garden in case you’re looking for an exotic touch and fields of beautiful wildflowers nestling the venue to create a stunning backdrop.
Hunton Park Hotel
Hunton Park Hotel is suited to couples who have always envisioned their weddings to be as regal, colourful and idyllic as a classic movie set. This hotel knows how to deliver beautiful weddings – with the delightful country setting, 22 acres of green landscapes and modern architecture – you can easily plan the wedding of your dreams here. Knebworth House

Moor Park
With its 17th Century Mansion building and well-maintained green grounds, Moor Park Golf Club is a great place for a wedding ceremony. With a little over 300 acres of space, Moor Park has a very distinct architectural structure and a really fascinating backdrop for your wedding photos. Additionally, the services provided by the staff are of top quality.
West Lodge Park
West Lodge Park is one of the finest country hotels in Hertfordshire with an overwhelming 35 acres of space, stunning landscapes, tree-lined driveways and sophisticated architecture and interior. Micklefield Hall
If you’re a couple who’d like to ditch the big city hustle and surround yourself with an authentic liberating and revitalizing rustic barn for your big day, you couldn’t possibly like a wedding venue more than Micklefield Hall. It’s the picture perfect countryside location that’s hard to ignore.
